Tigers and Yellow Jackets Play to 0-0 Double Overtime Draw

Box Score

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA - Despite paying 110 minutes of soccer, neither Hampden-Sydney nor Randolph-Macon were able to register a goal for a 0-0 double overtime draw. Each team will earn one point in the ODAC standings.

Randolph-Macon controlled time of possession throughout the contest and had several very good scoring chances, but Tigers goalkeeper Cameron McFarlane (Norwich, CT / South Kent) was outstanding in the net, including a miraculous save in overtime. The Yellow Jackets looked to have the game won in overtime, but the goal was waived off as R-MC was flagged for being offside. Hampden-Sydney had an excellent scoring chance with less than a minute left in the game off a corner kick, but the Tigers were also called for being offside.

The Hampden-Sydney offense failed to get in sync on the night, recording just nine shots with three on goal while Randolph-Macon had 19 shots and seven on target. McFarlane made nine saves compared to three for Cris Lowe. R-MC also held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Hampden-Sydney travels to Bridgewater, VA on Saturday for a 4 pm contest against Bridgewater College.
