Tigers' senior forward Kris Barnes (Virginia Beach, VA/Kempsville) rounded out the scoring and gave Hampden-Sydney a 4-0 advantage with 6:57 to play, when freshman midfielder Eamon Penland's (Elgin, SC/Spring Valley) corner was deflected by Ian Ciejek (Richmond, VA/Mills Godwin) to the feet of Barnes, who buried a shot from just a few yards away.

Freshman goalkeeper John Robert Plyler (Charlotte, NC/Myers Park) earned his third career shutout en route to winning his seventh game of the season.
