(October 21, 2006) ROANOKE, VA -- The Roanoke Maroons (7-7-1, 6-2 ODAC) proved to be too much for the Tigers, winning by a score of 3-0. With the loss, Hampden-Sydney drops to 9-5-2 (4-3-1 ODAC) on the season.

The Maroons and Tigers played through a scoreless first half; however, only ten minutes into the second half, Roanoke's Eric Eversole scored the fist goal of the game off an assist from Andy Bickel. That goal would prove to be enough for the Maroons as they defeated the Tigers, 3-0. On the day, Eversole netted two goals and recorded one assist. Hampden-Sydney and Roanoke were nearly even in shots as Roanoke held a slight advantage, 11-10.

The Hampden-Sydney soccer team will return home for the regular-season finale against ODAC-foe Bridgewater College on Tuesday, October 24. The game is set to start at 3:00 pm. Come out and support the Tigers on Senior Day.
