ATLANTA, GA—Hampden-Sydney's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season, 4-0, at Emory University on Saturday. The Tigers move to 3-1 overall on the year as Emory improves to 3-0.
Emory's Matthew Levine scored two first half goals, while Jon Arost added a third as EU held a 3-0 lead at the half. Hampden-Sydney surrendered just one second half strike, a Chris Nehls goal in the 50th minute.
Emory's defense limited the Tigers to just two shots on goal, while the Eagles came up with five shots-on-goal and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Hampden-Sydney's soccer team will look to regain its winning form from its first three games on Thursday, September 11, as the team hosts Averett University at Miller Field at 4 pm.
