Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The 39th class of honorees will include Baseball All-American
Matt Brown '10, Football All-American
Will Ferrell '14, two-time Lacrosse All-American
Scott Ketcham '99, along with All-Region and two-time All-ODAC Football honoree
Kyle Vance '12. This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. in Stephen F. Snyder Hall at the Kirk Athletic Center.
Matt Brown '10 (Chester) was an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Third Team All-American in 2010, and a two-time ABCA All-South Region selection, including First Team in 2010 and Second Team in 2009. A two-time First Team All-ODAC (2009-10) honoree, he started 71 of 72 career games and ranks first in career batting average (.404), third in career home runs (19) and fifth in career RBIs (96), and holds season records for home runs (15), RBIs (53) and total bases (118), while 30 career doubles and 64 career runs. Matt helped the program to a two-year record of 43-29-1 overall, including 23-13 in the ODAC, and two ODAC Tournament appearances.
Will Ferrell '14 (Blythewood, SC) was an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) First Team All-American in 2012, and a two-time D3football.com All-Region selection, including Second Team in 2013 and Third Team in 2012. A three-time First Team All-ODAC (2011-13) honoree and two-time Touchdown Club of Richmond Offensive Lineman of the Year (2012-13), he was a four-year starter on the offensive line, including three years at left tackle and one year at right tackle, starting all 44 career games. A two-time team captain, Will helped the program to a four-year record of 32-12 overall, including 20-6 in the ODAC, winning two ODAC Championships (2011, 2013) and making three NCAA Playoff appearances (2010-11, 2013).
Scott Ketcham '99 (Garden City, NY) was a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-American (1998-99), and a two-time All-ODAC honoree, including First Team in 1998 and Second Team in 1999. He led NCAA Division III in goals-against average (6.39) as a senior, and is considered one of the best goalies in school history, ranking second in career saves (555) and among the Top 25 in season saves, including 155 in 1997 (16th) and 148 in 1999 (21st). Scott helped the program to a four-year record of 41-17 overall, including 19-7 in the ODAC, winning one ODAC Championship (1998) and making two NCAA Tournament appearances (1998-99).
Kyle Vance '12 (Onley) was a D3football.com First Team All-Region selection in 2011, and a two-time First Team All-ODAC (2010-11) honoree, while the 2011 Touchdown Club of Richmond End/Wide Receiver of the Year. A two-year starter at wide receiver, he played in 38 career games with 213 career receptions for 2,907 career receiving yards and 29 career receiving touchdowns, ranking third in career receiving touchdowns, fifth in career receiving yards and sixth in career receptions. Vance is tied for the most single-game receiving touchdowns (4, 2011) and season receiving touchdowns (16, 2011), ranks fourth in season receptions (103, 2011) and receiving yards (1,391, 2011), is fifth in single-game receiving yards (228, 2011) and tied for fifth in single-game receptions (14 twice, 2011). Kyle helped the program to a four-year record of 35-8 overall, including 20-4 in the ODAC, winning two ODAC Championships (2009, 2011) and making three NCAA Playoff appearances (2009-11).
The Hampden-Sydney College Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 1988 and is designed to honor men who have made outstanding contributions to Hampden-Sydney athletics and have helped bring recognition, honor, excellence and distinction to the College and its intercollegiate athletics program. Members are selected annually by the Hall of Fame Committee from nominations submitted by alumni and friends of the College. The four individuals will also be recognized at halftime of the home football game against Monmouth (IL) College on Saturday, Sept. 12, a contest scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
