HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College sophomore placekicker/punter
Hank Webb (Salisbury, NC) has been named the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for games played September 12. Webb was selected for his outstanding efforts kicking and punting during a 31-19 non-conference home win past (RV)Monmouth (IL) College on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
Webb kicked his first collegiate field goal at 6:23 of the second quarter, a successful 33-yard attempt that had H-SC ahead 17-7. He added 4-4 PAT kicks to the home-opening triumph, as well, and averaged 44.8 yards on five punts, including a long of 55 yards, with one downed inside the 20 and one fair-caught in his first collegiate game punting. Webb also averaged 60.3 yards (five-yard line) on six kickoffs with one touchback.
H-SC will play on the road for the second time in three weeks at non-conference opponent the University of New England on Saturday, September 19, at 12 p.m. in Biddeford, Maine.
