The host Tigers are 12-8 overall, 6-5 in the ODAC (6th), with three losses in their last four contests. The visiting Hornets are 11-9 overall, 4-7 in the ODAC (9th), with four wins in their last five contests. Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the seventh-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 116-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 118-52 at the College, ranking sixth in program coaching wins, while his current winning percentage (.694) ranks second all-time. He is a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year (2022-23, 2023-24), was the 2022-23 ODAC Men's Basketball Bob Johnson Coach of the Year and the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 6 Coach of the Year.

The Tigers average 75.2 points, and yield 69.2 points, for a +6.0 scoring margin.Â
Scouting Shenandoah
SU, coached by fourth-year head coach Nick Doyle, lost on the road at ODAC member (RV)Virginia Wesleyan University 90-55 on Feb. 4 in Virginia Beach, ending a recent four-game winning streak. The Hornets have been led by sophomore forward/guard Ellis Wright (16.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 45-3FGs) and senior guard Dorian Davis (13.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 40-3FGs). SU shoots 42% (479-1132) from the field, including 33% (155-471) on three-pointers, and 65% (301-464) at the line. The Hornets average 67.3 points, and yield 72.6 points, for a -5.3 scoring margin.
Series History
H-SC leads the all-time series, 22-5, including 15-3 in ODAC regular season games. The Tigers have won 11-straight games against the Hornets, and 12 of the last 13 contests in the series, including the lone game last season:
80-63 on December 17, 2024 in Kirby Field House. Coach Kimbrough is 9-0 against SU since taking over the program prior to 2019-20, including 5-0 at home. The Hornets' last win in the series was back during the 2017-18 season, an 85-65 home win on January 6, 2018 in Winchester. The two schools first met on Jan. 15, 1986, a 69-63 road win for H-SC.
Another Level
Peter Moye has taken his game to another level this season ... averaging 11.9 points and 3.4 rebounds, while shooting 48% (85-179) from the field, including 39% (35-90) on three-point field goals, and 89% (33-37) at the free throw line. He has a team-best 14 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 21 points at Eastern Mennonite (12/6)—making a career-high five three-pointers. Moye also grabbed a career-high of eight rebounds vs. Wilson (12/19). Peter played in 23 games last season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Another Level 2.0
Santana Lynch has also taken his game to another level this season ... averaging 11.7 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting 57% (86-151) from the field and 70% (45-64) at the free throw line. He also has a team-best 14 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 19 points vs. Pfeiffer (11/23). Lynch also has a team-best five double-figure rebounding games for a team-best five double-doubles, including a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Guilford (1/7). Santana was limited to four games early last season before a season-ending injury in December.
Three-Point Specialist
Colin Radcliffe established a new school record for three-point field goals in a game with 10 vs. Eastern Mennonite (1/31). He was 10 of 21 from beyond the arc for the new standard, surpassing the previous record of nine three-pointers by
Ayman McGowan '25, ironically accomplished last season at home vs. the Royals (2/22/25). Radcliffe has taken 133 three-point attempts this season, which is 76% of his total field goal attempts (175) ... averaging 10.5 points, while shooting 39% (68-175) from the field, including 35% (47-133) on three-pointers, and 76% (16-21) at the free throw line. He has nine double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 30 points vs. EMU (1/31) with the career-high and school-record 10 three-pointers vs. the Royals.
Mr. Consistency
Travis Stickney remains steady and consistent in his second year starting—he has started all 48 games of his collegiate career—averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season, while shooting 38% (79-207) from the field, including 31% (26-83) on three-point field goals, and 73% (24-33) at the free throw line. He has 10 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 30 points vs. (11)Redlands (12/20), and also has career-highs of 11 rebounds at (RV)Roanoke (1/14), 12 assists vs. Lynchburg (1/17) and seven steals vs. (7)UW-La Crosse (11/7). Travis started all 29 games last season, averaging 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
Rounding Back To Form
Shane Fernald is averaging 14.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in his last six games, while shooting 64% (30-47) from the field, including 33% (1-3)on three-point field goals, and 76% (25-33) at the free throw line. He is averaging 9.7 points and 5.2 rebounds this season, while shooting 51% (66-129) from the field, including 14% (1-7) on three-pointers, and 69% (61-88) at the line. Fernald has eight double-figure scoring games, including seven in the last 10 games ... with season-highs of 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists vs. Lynchburg (1/17) to jump-start his current five-game run. Shane started 25 of 28 games last season, averaging 13.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.
Another Level 3.0
Tugg Bizzelle has taken his game to another level this season, as well ... averaging 8.2 points, while shooting 41% (57-138) from the field, including 38% (13-34) on three-point field goals, and 59% (36-61) at the free throw line. He has seven double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 19 points at Salisbury (11/12) with a career-high five three-pointers vs. the Sea Gulls, along with a career-high 10 rebounds vs. Eastern Mennonite (1/31). Tugg started three of 29 games last season, averaging 3.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Junior center
Alex Cannon (Loganville, GA)Â has taken advantage of his 6-9 height this season as evidenced by his 30 blocks ... averaging 1.6 blocks per game that ranks second in the ODAC. He has started 12 of 19 games and is averaging career-highs of 4.9 points and 5.6 rebounds, while shooting 63% (41-65) from the field. He has posted career-highs of 10 points vs. (11)Redlands (12/20) and 12 rebounds vs. Guilford (1/7), along with a season-high four blocks on two occasions, most recent vs. (11)Redlands (12/20).
NCAA Division III Statistics (Top 25)
H-SC continues to lead Division III in rebound margin (12.1), and ranks 13th nationally in rebounds per game (43.7), 27th in offensive rebounds (14.5) and 30th in defensive rebounds (29.2).

Leading the Tigers is senior guard
Grayson Schultz (Moseley), who is a second-year team member serving in the leadership role for the first time. He was a team manager during his first two years at the College, before joining the team for 2024-25. Grayson is the son of Glenn and Paige Schultz and is majoring in economics and business at the College.
Program History
H-SC is competing in its 116th-year of basketball during 2025-26. The Tigers have an overall program record of
1,552-1,110Â since beginning in 1908. H-SC has posted 64 winning seasons, 18 seasons with at least 20 wins, six seasons with at least 25 wins, has won a record 11 ODAC Tournament Championships.
NCAA Tournament History
H-SC has made
17 NCAA Tournament appearances since 1989, winning at least one game in 14 of the 17, while compiling an overall NCAA Tournament record of 27-18. The Tigers advanced to the Final Four in 1999, 2003 and 2024, and to the National Championship in 1999 and 2024. H-SC was National Runner-Up in 1999, falling to UW-Platteville 76-75 in double-overtime, and in 2024, falling to Trine (IN) 69-61. The Tigers fell to Gustavus Adolphus (MN) 79-68 in the 2003 National Semifinals. H-SC advanced to the Elite Eight in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2024, while reaching the Sweet 16 in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2024 and 2025. The Tigers have hosted 24 NCAA Tournament games since 1992, compiling an impressive record of 19-5.
Former Tigers Now Division I Head Coaches
H-SC currently has two former basketball team members and graduates of the College that are serving as NCAA Division I head coaches.
Russell Turner '92 is in his 16th year at UC Irvine and
Ryan Odom '96 is in his first season at Virginia and his 10th season as a DI head coach (UMBC, Utah State, VCU). Through Feb. 5, Turner was 337-194 at UCI (16-7 this season) and Odom was 220-120 overall, including 19-3 this season at (18/17)UVA, 52-21 in two years at VCU, 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC.Â
Griff Aldrich '96 is in his first season as the associate head coach at UVA after serving as head coach at Longwood the past seven seasons where he was 127-100 overall. Additionally,
Ryan Silverfield '03 was named the 35th head football coach at Arkansas on November 30. Silverfield was 50-25 in six years at Memphis, including 8-4 this season.
Up Next
H-SCÂ plays two ODAC road games next week, its final two away from home during the regular season, including at Lynchburg on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. and at Guilford on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. in North Carolina. The Tigers then close the regular season at home in the friendly confines of Diaz Arena with two ODAC games, including Randolph on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. and Washington and Lee on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. for Senior Day.
