Hampden-Sydney Plays At Guilford (NC) On Saturday At 2 p.m.

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College plays its final regular season road game at Guilford College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon, February 14, at 2 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina. The visiting Tigers are 13-9 overall, 7-6 in the ODAC (T-6th), while the host Quakers are 12-10 overall, 6-7 in the ODAC (8th). Each program is currently among the top eight that will qualify for the ODAC Tournament with three games remaining. The game can be heard locally on WVHL Radio, Kickin' Country 92.9 FM with pregame at 1:30 p.m., and will also be available worldwide on the Internet at wvhl.net or via the TuneIn Radio App, while available to watch at flocollege.com.

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the seventh-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 116-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 119-53 at the College, ranking sixth in program coaching wins, while his current winning percentage (.692) ranks second all-time. He is a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year (2022-23, 2023-24), was the 2022-23 ODAC Men's Basketball Bob Johnson Coach of the Year and the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 6 Coach of the Year.

2025-26 Coaching Staff
Coach Kimbrough is aided this season by second-year associate head coach Bryson Gibson, also in his seventh year with the program, fourth-year assistant coach Carson Long, along with first-year assistant coach Zach Hinton.

Scouting Hampden-Sydney
H-SC dropped a 77-67 decision on the road at ODAC member the University of Lynchburg on Feb. 11. The Tigers have been led by a trio of sophomore guards in Santana Lynch (Dallas, TX) (11.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 57% FGs), Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) (11.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 39 3FGs) and Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) (10.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 27 3FGs), along with senior guard Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC) (10.0 points, 47 3FGs). Senior forward Shane Fernald (Charlotte, NC) (9.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 50% FGs) and sophomore guard Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD) (9.3 points, 17 3FGs) have been consistent contributors, as well. H-SC shoots 45% (596-1323) from the field, including 33% (155-471) on three-point field goals, and 67% (297-443) at the free throw line. The Tigers average 74.7 points, and yield 69.3 points, for a +5.4 scoring margin.

Scouting Guilford
GC, coached by first-year head coach Jesse DeLoof, is the defending ODAC Tournament Champion and enjoyed an 89-85 road win at (21)Roanoke College on Feb. 11. The Quakers have been led by sophomore guard Braylen Salters (23.0 points, 2.1 steals, 49 3FGs), senior guard Gabe Proctor (17.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 81 3FGs) and senior forward Ke Edwards (13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.1 steals). GC shoots 41% (722-1755) from the field, including 33% (220-663) on three-pointers, and 72% (426-593) at the line. The Quakers average 95.0 points, and yield 85.5 points, for a +9.5 scoring margin.

Series History
H-SC and GC are playing for the 68th time since the Quakers joined the ODAC for the 1991-92 season. The Tigers lead the series at 41-26, and have won three of the last four games played between the two schools, including a 92-79 come-from-behind home win earlier this season on January 7. GC, however, has won six-straight home games against H-SC dating back to the 2017-18 season, including a 77-68 home win last season on Jan. 8, 2025. Coach Kimbrough is 6-6 overall against his alma mater, though 0-4 against the Quakers in the building he played in as an undergraduate, and 10 of the 12 games have been decided by three possessions or less with an average margin of victory of 5.5 points.

NCAA Division III Team Statistics (Top 25)
H-SC ranks second in Division III in rebound margin (11.2) and 17th in rebounds per game (43.0).

ODAC Individual Statistics (Top 10)
Travis Stickney
is second in the ODAC in assists (4.2) and minutes (34.1), tied for sixth in steals (1.5), seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.4) and tied for ninth in rebounding (5.8). Santana Lynch is second in rebounding (7.5) and field goal percentage (57.0). Junior center Alex Cannon (Loganville, GA) is second in blocks (1.5). Colin Radcliffe is tied for sixth in three-pointers (47) and eighth in three-point percentage (35.1).

The Team Three-Point Stat
H-SC has made at least one three-pointer in 544 consecutive games, dating back to a 2005 home game vs. Emory & Henry (12/3, 0-1 3FGA). Ironically, the Tigers won that high-scoring contest ... 130-99 without making a three-pointer.

2025-26 Team Captain
Leading the Tigers is  senior guard Grayson Schultz (Moseley), who is a second-year team member serving in the leadership role for the first time. He was a team manager during his first two years at the College, before joining the team for 2024-25. Grayson is the son of Glenn and Paige Schultz and is majoring in economics and business.
