HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College welcomes Eastern Mennonite University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon, January 31, at 12 p.m. on the new Tony Shaver Court in Diaz Arena at the renovated Kirby Field House. The host Tigers are 11-7 overall, 5-4 in the ODAC (6th), and have dropped two-straight contests. The visiting Royals are 5-13 overall, 2-7 in the ODAC (T-10th), and have lost three-straight contests. Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the seventh-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 116-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 117-51 at the College, ranking sixth in program coaching wins, while his current winning percentage (.696) ranks second all-time. He is a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year (2022-23, 2023-24), was the 2022-23 ODAC Men's Basketball Bob Johnson Coach of the Year and the 2024-25 D3hoops.com Region 6 Coach of the Year.

H-SC lost its most-recent game to ODAC member Virginia Wesleyan University
76-66 on Jan. 28 in Diaz Arena. The Tigers continue to be led by the sophomore guard trio of
Santana Lynch (Dallas, TX) (11.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 56% FGs),
Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) (11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 30-3FGs) and
Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) (11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 25-3FGs). Senior forward
Shane Fernald (Charlotte, NC) (9.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 51% FGs), senior guard
Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC) (9.4 points, 37-3FGs) and sophomore guard
Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD) (7.9 points, 12-3FGs) have been contributing consistently, as well. H-SC shoots 46% (503-1083) from the field, including 33% (118-361) on three-point field goals, and 66% (241-364) at the free throw line. The Tigers average 75.8 points, and yield 70.9 points, for a +4.9 scoring margin.Â
Scouting Eastern Mennonite
EMU, coached by eighth-year head coach Melvin Felix, lost its most-recent game to ODAC member (8)Randolph-Macon College 95-46 on Jan. 28 in Ashland. The Royals have been led by junior guards Aaron Brooks (14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.5 steals, 17-3FGs) and Isaiah Carr (12.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 19-3FGs). EMU shoots 43% (410-964) from the field, including 31% (102-332) on three-pointers, and 66% (217-331) at the line. The Royals average 63.3 points, and yield 71.0 points, for a -7.7 scoring margin.
Series History
H-SC and EMU are playing for the 90th time as ODAC opponents since the 1976-77 season. The Tigers lead the conference series at 65-24, including seven-straight wins, the most recent a
64-62 road win earlier this season on December 6, 2025 in Harrisonburg. H-SC has won three-straight at home in the series, including
95-78 last February 22, 2025. Coach Kimbrough is 7-0 against the Royals since taking over the program prior to 2019-20, including 3-0 at home. EMU's last win in the series was back during the 2018-19 season, a 70-56 road win on Feb. 9, 2019 in Kirby Field House.
Another Level
Santana Lynch has taken his game to another level this season ... averaging 11.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, while shooting 56% (83-148) from the field and 70% (44-63) at the free throw line. He has a team-best 14 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 19 points vs. Pfeiffer (11/23). Lynch also has a team-best five double-figure rebounding games for a team-best five double-doubles, including a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Guilford (1/7). Santana was limited to four games early last season before a season-ending injury in December.
Another Level 2.0
Peter Moye has also taken his game to another level this season ... averaging 11.8 points and 3.4 rebounds, while shooting 48% (77-160) from the field, including 38% (30-80) on three-point field goals, and 90% (28-31) at the free throw line. He has 12 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 21 points at Eastern Mennonite (12/6)—making a career-high five three-pointers. Moye also grabbed a career-high of eight rebounds vs. Wilson (12/19). Peter played in 23 games last season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Mr. Consistency
Travis Stickney remains steady and consistent in his second year starting—he has started all 46 games of his collegiate career—averaging 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists this season, while shooting 39% (75-192) from the field, including 31% (25-80) on three-point field goals, and 77% (24-31) at the free throw line. He has 10 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 30 points vs. (11)Redlands (12/20), and also has career-highs of 11 rebounds at (RV)Roanoke (1/14), 12 assists vs. Lynchburg (1/17) and seven steals vs. (7)UW-La Crosse (11/7). Travis started all 29 games last season, averaging 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
Rounding Back To Form
Shane Fernald is averaging 16.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in his last four games, while shooting 70% (23-33) from the field, including 100% (1-1) on three-point field goals, and 78% (18-23) at the free throw line. He is averaging 9.6 points and 5.2 rebounds this season, while shooting 51% (59-115) from the field, including 20% (1-5) on three-pointers, and 69% (54-78) at the line. Fernald has seven double-figure scoring games, including four-straight and six in the last eight games ... with season-highs of 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists vs. Lynchburg (1/17) to jump-start his current four-game run. Shane started 25 of 28 games last season, averaging 13.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Colin Radcliffe has taken 112 three-point field goal attempts, which is 73% of his total field goal attempts (153) on the season. He is averaging 9.4 points, while shooting 38% (58-153) from the field, including 33% (37-112) on three-pointers, and 76% (16-21) at the free throw line. He has eight double-figure scoring games, including a season-high 25 points vs. Guilford (1/7) with a career-high seven three-pointers (7-13) vs. the Quakers.
NCAA Division III Statistics (Top 25)
H-SC continues to lead Division III in rebound margin (12.8), and ranks 14th nationally in rebounds per game (43.9) and 24th in defensive rebounds (29.4).

Grayson Schultz (Moseley), who is a second-year team member serving in the leadership role for the first time. He was a team manager during his first two years at the College, before joining the team for 2024-25. Grayson is the son of Glenn and Paige Schultz and is majoring in economics and business at the College.
Program History
H-SC is competing in its 116th-year of basketball during 2025-26. The Tigers have an overall program record of
1,551-1,109Â since beginning in 1908. H-SC has posted 64 winning seasons, 18 seasons with at least 20 wins, six seasons with at least 25 wins, has won a record 11 ODAC Tournament Championships.
NCAA Tournament History
H-SC has made
17 NCAA Tournament appearances since 1989, winning at least one game in 14 of the 17, while compiling an overall NCAA Tournament record of 27-18. The Tigers advanced to the Final Four in 1999, 2003 and 2024, and to the National Championship in 1999 and 2024. H-SC was National Runner-Up in 1999, falling to UW-Platteville 76-75 in double-overtime, and in 2024, falling to Trine (IN) 69-61. The Tigers fell to Gustavus Adolphus (MN) 79-68 in the 2003 National Semifinals. H-SC advanced to the Elite Eight in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2024, while reaching the Sweet 16 in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2024 and 2025. The Tigers have hosted 24 NCAA Tournament games since 1992, compiling an impressive record of 19-5.
Former Tigers Now Division I Head Coaches
H-SC currently has two former basketball team members and graduates of the College that are serving as NCAA Division I head coaches.
Russell Turner '92 is in his 16th year at UC Irvine and
Ryan Odom '96 is in his first season at Virginia and his 10th season as a DI head coach (UMBC, Utah State, VCU). Through Jan. 29, Turner was 336-194 at UCI (15-7 this season) and Odom was 218-120 overall, including 17-3 this season at (17/17)UVA, 52-21 in two years at VCU, 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC.Â
Griff Aldrich '96 is in his first season as the associate head coach at UVA after serving as head coach at Longwood the past seven seasons where he was 127-100 overall. Additionally,
Ryan Silverfield '03 was named the 35th head football coach at Arkansas on November 30. Silverfield was 50-25 in six years at Memphis, including 8-4 this season.
