Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) each added 14 points, to lead (RV)Hampden-Sydney College to an 80-67 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball road win at Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon in Bridgewater. The visiting Tigers closed the first half on an 18-6 run to lead 41-27 at halftime, and led the host Eagles by as many as 22 points in the second half. . H-SC improved to 9-4 overall with its second consecutive win, now 3-1 in the ODAC. BC dropped to 6-7 overall, 2-2 in the ODAC, and was led by Kyren Smith with a game-high 19 points and Maleek Richardson with 18 points.

Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) and Radcliffe, along with a jumper by Stickney. BC tied it at 8-8 and 10-10, before the Tigers used a quick 9-2 run to lead 19-12 at 10:18. The Eagles closed back to within 23-21 with 8:13 on the first-half clock, but the Garnet & Grey scored seven unanswered points to jump-start a 16-2 run en route to outscoring BC 18-6 for a comfortable 41-27 lead at the intermission. Radcliffe and Stickney each connected on a pair of three-pointers for six points each during the outburst, while Fernald scored the other six points.
The two teams played evenly to begin the second half with H-SC leading 47-33 at 16:02 after four-straight points by Fernald that followed a basket from Stickney. BC closed to within 49-38 with 14:26 remaining after a three-pointer by Richardson, but the Tigers responded with eight unanswered points, including four points each by Lynch and junior center
Alex Cannon (Loganville, GA) to push the advantage to 57-38 at 12:02. The visitors extended the run to 21-10 to take their largest lead of the contest at 70-48 with 7:00 on the second-half clock—getting points from five different players, including four by Fernald, three by Lynch and two each by sophomore guard
Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD), Stickney and Cannon. The Eagles managed to close within 73-61 at 2:51, but that was as close as they would get down the stretch as Lynch scored the final seven points for the Garnet & Grey, including a two-handed slam dunk for the team's final points with just over a minute left to play.
Fernald led H-SC with his 16 points, including 6-8 field goals and 4-6 free throws, adding five rebounds. Lynch and Stickney each added their respective 14 points for the Tigers … Lynch off the bench and all during the second half, along with a game-high eight rebounds, while Stickney had four rebounds and a game-high four assists, as well. Radcliffe contributed his 13 points, all during the first half, including 3-8 three-pointers, while Moye had nine points and Cannon had eight points and five rebounds. H-SC shot 52% (31-60) from the field, including 30% (6-20) on three-pointers, and 67% (12-18) at the free throw line.
Smith led BC with his game-high 19 points, including 3-5 three-pointers. Richardson finished with 18 points for the Eagles, including 4-8 three-pointers, adding six rebounds, while Mi'Kis Engram had 10 points. BC shot 46% (26-57) from the field, including 34% (11-32) on three-pointers, and 80% (4-5) at the line.
H-SC has now won five-straight, and seven of the last eight games versus BC, and also has five-straight wins at BC under the direction of Coach Kimbrough, dating back to 2019-20. The Tigers will remain on the road for their next game at (15)Roanoke College on Wednesday, January 14, at 7 p.m. in Salem.
