ODAC WEEKLY REPORT
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College sophomore cornerback
Parks Cromwell (Charlotte, NC) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Football
Defensive Player of the Week for games played during the opening weekend, September 4-6. He was selected for his outstanding efforts during the Tigers' 38-9 non-conference road win at (RV)Delaware Valley on Sept. 6 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Parks had five tackles at DelVal, all solo stops, with one tackle for loss—resulting in a strip-sack and forced fumble—as well as one interception and three pass breakups to lead H-SC to its season-opening triumph. His strip-sack and forced fumble ended the Aggies' opening drive and helped setup the Tigers for a touchdown on their first possession of the game. The interception ended a late-second quarter drive by DelVal after the hosts had scored on their previous two possessions, while the three PBUs led the secondary on the day, as well. He is leading the ODAC in passes defended (4), is tied for first in fumbles forced, tied for second in interceptions, tied for third in solo tackles and tied for sixth in sacks.
H-SC (1-0) will welcome visiting (RV)Washington & Jefferson (PA) College (0-1) in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
