Nick Rubino, Luke Combs & Rece Lott Earn 2024-25 ODAC Men's Golf Honors | Nick Rubino Named ODAC Ted Keller Sportsman of the Year

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College senior Nick Rubino (Charlotte, NC) has been named the 2024-25 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Golf Ted Keller Sportsman of the Year and Second Team All-ODAC. In addition, freshman Luke Combs (Newport News) was named Second Team All-ODAC, as well, and senior Rece Lott (Fort Worth, TX) was named Third Team All-ODAC. Rubino is the second consecutive and the fourth Tiger to be selected for the Sportsman of the Year award since 2020.

Nick Rubino is ranked 57th in NCAA Division III and 28th in Region IV with his collegiate-low 73.5 scoring average (72.1 adjusted) through 10 tournaments and 27 rounds this year. He posted collegiate-low scores of 66 for 18 holes and 139 for 36 holes, along with a season-low 211 for 54 holes. Nick posted a four-over par 72-75-73—220 to win the Cochran Collegiate on April 14-15 at the Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee near Memphis. Overall, he earned four Top 15 among six Top 25 individual finishes with eight rounds of par or better. Nick tied for 18th at this week's ODAC Championship, posting 71-73-79—223, and is a three-time All-ODAC selection. His coach (eighth-year head coach Chad Eisele) says that he is well-respected among his peers, not only within the conference and region, but throughout Division III with his unquestioned integrity.

Luke Combs is ranked 154th in Division III and 62nd in Region IV with his 74.7 scoring average (73.9 adjusted) through eight tournaments and 19 rounds this year. He posted collegiate-low scores of 69 for 18 holes, 139 for 36 holes and 221 for 54 holes. Luke posted a three-under par 69-70—139, and birdied the second playoff hole, to win the Tiger Fall Invite on September 30, 2024 at the Manor Golf Club in Farmville. Overall, he earned two Top 15 individual finishes with five rounds of par or better. Luke tied for 33rd at this week's ODAC Championship, posting 76-73-80—229.

Rece Lott is ranked 141st in Division III and 56th in Region IV with his collegiate-low 75.0 scoring average (73.6 adjusted) through 10 tournaments and 27 rounds this year. He posted collegiate-low scores of 69 for 18 holes (tied), 142 for 36 holes and 212 for 54 holes. Rece posted a one-under par 73-69-70—212 to tie for 20th at the Golfweek October Classic on October 13-15, 2024 at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort's Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, Florida. Overall, he earned four Top 25 individual finishes with five rounds of par or better. Rece tied for 20th at this week's ODAC Championship, posting 74-75-75—224.
