Freshman left-hander Bobby Holihan (Yorktown) gained the pitching win in middle relief in the 14-6 nightcap, while junior right-hander Alex Fitz-Hugh (Chesterfield) took the mound setback in late relief in the 11-8 opener for the visiting Tigers (15-17, 8-10) against the host Maroons (18-13-1, 10-5-1).

RC scored 11 runs on 14 hits with two errors … scoring three runs in the second inning, four runs in the third and four runs in the ninth on a two-out, walk-off grand slam home run for the victory.

In the second, senior left fielder Christian Chambers (Midlothian) (1-5) singled to left field to begin the at-bat, advanced to third on a one-out single to right field by sophomore second baseman Jase Howell (Portsmouth) (3-3, RBI) and scored on a sacrifice fly RBI to right field by Masterson (2-3, 2 RBIs) for an early 1-0 advantage.

In the fifth, junior center fielder and team captain Jack Wilson (Petersburg) (1-5) reached on an infield single with one out and crossed the plate when junior third baseman Matthew Arnold (Danville) (2-5, RBI) followed with an RBI double to left center field for a 7-2 deficit.

In the sixth, junior right fielder and team captain Chase Sanford (Mechanicsville) (3-5, RBI) reached on another infield single to begin the at-bat, stole second base ahead of a walk to Howell and advanced to third when Masterson reached on a fielder's choice with Howell out at second base. Sanford scored and Masterson advanced to third when Moore (1-5, 2 RBIs) provided an RBI single to right field, and Masterson crossed the plate on a wild pitch to make it a 7-4 contest.

In the seventh, senior first baseman and team captain Grayson Harris (Moseley) (1-5) singled to right field to begin the at-bat, stole second base and advanced to third on a ground ball out.
