LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell on the road to nationally ranked No. 14 University of Lynchburg 19-3 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) clash Wednesday night.
It was the Hornets who got the scoring started in the first quarter, scoring the first seven goals as H-SC struggled to get any offense going in the first quarter, only taking one shot compared to 14 as they trailed 7-0 after one.
Lynchburg kept it rolling in the second, opening with two unanswered before freshman
Broder Conley (Duluth, GA) got the scoring started for the Tigers off the feed from sophomore
John Foley (Virginia Beach), who got his first career assist on the pass. The Hornets responded with one more before the halftime whistle as the Tigers trailed 10-1 after 30 minutes of action.
Lynchburg opened the second half with two goals before senior
Campion White (Apex, NC) answered with a goal of his own 33 seconds after the second strike. H-SC made it two unanswered two minutes and 12 seconds later as sophomore
Kavin Wood (Cary, NC) found the back of the net. The Hornets responded with two of their own to close the quarter and lead H-SC 14-3.
The final 15 minutes belonged to Lynchburg, as it scored five unanswered and the Tigers could not find the back of the net to fall 19-3.
Conley, White, and Wood each scored a goal while Foley tallied the only assist of the night.

Conor Kilfeather (Wyndmoor, PA) caused four turnovers and grabbed four ground balls and fellow classmate
Gaines Weis (Richmond) caused two turnovers and grabbed three ground balls.
Junior
Will Palmer (Atlanta, GA) got the loss in net while making eight saves.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, March 29, when they play host to nationally ranked No. 10 Washington and Lee University in ODAC action. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.
