Hampden-Sydney Up To Fifth In This Week's D3hoops.com Top 25

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College moved up three spots and is ranked No. 5 nationally in the week nine D3hoops.com Top 25, its highest ranking this season. The Tigers, ranked eighth for the last two weeks, earned 454 points in this week's poll. H-SC is 17-3 overall, 10-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) following a pair of 20-plus point wins, and remains among the Top 10 for the seventh consecutive ranking. The Tigers have won seven-straight games and nine of their last 10 games overall.

Wesleyan (CT) University (21-0) is ranked first again this week with 621 points, including 22 first-place votes, followed by Illinois Wesleyan University (18-2, 578, 3) at No. 2, New York University (17-1, 566) at No. 3, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (17-2, 559) at No. 4, H-SC at No. 5, the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse (16-3, 449) at No. 6, defending NCAA Division III National Champion Trine (IN) University (17-2, 443) at No. 7, Wisconsin Lutheran College (18-1, 442) at No. 8, St. John's (MN) University (17-2, 404) at No. 9 and Washington (MO) University (15-3, 401) at No. 10. Fellow ODAC member Randolph-Macon College (17-3, 392) is ranked among the Top 25 at No. 12, while conference members Virginia Wesleyan University (21), Roanoke College (14) and Guilford (NC) College (8) are each receiving votes in the poll.

H-SC is scheduled to welcome (RV)Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday night, February 5, at 7 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium. It will be a "Banner Blackout" as the program will unveil the 2024 ODAC Tournament Championship banner and everyone is encouraged to wear black attire. As a reminder, it's free admission for all regular season home athletic contests at the College.
