Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) and
Peter Moye (Charlotte, NC) contributed 14 points and 10 points, respectively. Joshua Williams scored 14 points for the Owls (0-2).
"Proud of the guys for bouncing back on such a quick turnaround," said seventh-year head coach
Caleb Kimbrough. "They (KSC) were a very athletic and quick team, and I thought our guys showed some maturity in the way we played on both ends. We learned a lot this weekend and definitely got better."
H-SC enjoyed a fast start and took an early 13-1 advantage just 4:22 into the contest, getting points from Moye (5), Lynch (4), Fernald (2) and Stickney (2). The Tigers maintained a comfortable margin and extend the lead to 26-11 at 10:29 following an old-fashioned three-point play in the paint by sophomore guard
Asa Williams (Atlanta, GA), while junior center
Alex Cannon (Loganville) added four points. It was still a 15-point margin at 32-17 after a layup by Lynch with 8:11 on the first-half clock, and 1-2 free throws by Lynch made it 39-23 at 2:08 for the largest lead of the first half. KSC scored the final six points of the period for a halftime margin of 39-29.
H-SC continued with its advantage to begin the second half and led 50-36 at 14:21 after a jumper by Stickney. KSC closed to within 54-45 with 10:03 remaining, but the Tigers responded with five unanswered points to lead 59-45 at 8:06 following another layup from Lynch. The Owls would get no closer than nine points thereafter, the last time with 4:03 left at 67-58, before the Garnet & Grey finished strong and extended their margin with a game-ending 12-3 run. Stickney started it with a three-point field goal at 3:34, followed by a slam dunk by Cannon, 3-4 free throws by Fernald, a layup from Moye and two more free throws by Fernald to close it out for the 18-point triumph.

Tugg Bizzelle (Baltimore, MD) had nine points and Cannon had six points and six rebounds. H-SC shot 51% (30-59) from the field, including 17% (2-12) on three-pointers, and 57% (17-30) at the free throw line. The Tigers enjoyed a 54-26 advantage in points scored in the paint.
Williams led KSC with his 14 points, adding three steals. Jordan Cooper finished with 13 points for the Owls, adding five rebounds, while Isaac Ogutuga had 11 points. KSC shot 37% (23-62) from the field, including 30% (8-27) on three-pointers, and 54% (7-13) at the line.
H-SC will play on the road at Salisbury (MD) University on Wednesday, November 12, at 6 p.m. in Salisbury, Maryland.
