Charlie Cobb Classic on Tony Shaver Court in Diaz Arena at Kirby Field House. The host Tigers (4-1) trailed 42-36 at halftime before outscoring the visiting Falcons 48-29 in the second half, including a game-changing 22-4 run
. Clayton Robinson scored 17 points off the bench for Pfeiffer (4-2).

H-SC and Pfeiffer played evenly to begin the contest with the Tigers taking a 16-13 advantage after two free throws by junior guard
William Britt (Richmond) at 14:17, as Lynch scored six early points for the hosts. The Falcons, however, used a 16-4 run to lead 29-20 with 7:56 left in the half after a three-point field goal by Robinson. The visitors maintained their advantage and led 42-36 at the intermission following a late three-pointer by Robinson, who scored 12 first-half points.
H-SC battled back in the second half with an early 15-8 run and took a 51-50 lead at 14:38 after an old-fashioned three-point play on a two-handed slam dunk and free throw by Lynch. He scored seven of the points, including a steal and two-handed slam to start the final 20 minutes. It was tied for the final time at 54-54 with 12:42 on the clock before the Tigers took control with 12 unanswered points that began the game-changing 22-4 run for a 76-58 advantage at 3:59. Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) added a three-pointer before two free throws by Cannon and a basket inside from senior forward
Shane Fernald (Charlotte, NC) … followed by a jumper and free throw for another old-fashioned three-point play by senior guard
Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC), a three-pointer by Radcliffe, 3-4 free throws from Fernald, two free throws by Radcliffe and a layup by Bizzelle. Pfeiffer was within 80-69 at 1:03 after another three-pointer by Robinson, but two free throws each from Fernald and Bizzelle helped provide for the final margin of victory.
Lynch led H-SC with his career-high and game-high 19 points, adding his six rebounds and two steals—the latter tying a career-high as he was named the
Most Valuable Player of the Charlie Cobb Classic as a member of the
All-Classic Team. Bizzelle had his 15 points and game-high four assists for the Tigers. Radcliffe equaled his season-high with 12 points off the bench, adding four rebounds, while Moye had 10 points. Fernald finished with nine points, five rebounds, three assists and a game-high three steals off the bench, as well, and Stickney had seven points. Cannon added six points, a career-high and game-high 11 rebounds and a game-high three blocks—while also named to the
All-Classic Team. H-SC shot 52% (28-54) from the field, including 58% (15-26) in the second half, 43% (3-7) on three-pointers, and a season-high 76% (25-33) at the free throw line. The Tigers enjoyed a 48-26 advantage in points scored in the paint, and a 20-14 advantage in points off turnovers.
Robinson led Pfeiffer with his 17 points off the bench and was named to the All-Classic Team, as well. Sean Sucarichi finished with 10 points for the Falcons. Pfeiffer shot 44% (28-63) from the field, including 32% (8-25) on three-pointers, and 64% (7-11) at the line.
Lynch, Cannon and Robinson were joined on the All-Classic Team by Asher Nofziger of Colorado College and Raymond Benton of Mary Baldwin University.
H-SC will be idle this week for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday before returning to action on the road for its Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener at archrival (2)Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday night, December 3, at 7 p.m. in Ashland.
