ODAC WEEKLY REPORT
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College senior quarterback and team captain
Carter Sido (Dallas, TX) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Football
Offensive Player of the Week for week four games played on September 27. He was selected for his outstanding passing efforts during the Tigers' 69-14 ODAC road win at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is the fourth consecutive week that the conference office has recognized the Garnet & Grey with a player of the week selection.
Carter passed for a game-high 276 yards (12-17-1) and a game-high and career-high six touchdowns with one interception for a remarkable 311.7 passing efficiency rating—all during the first 30 minutes against the Quakers. His six touchdown passes tie for the third-most in program history, only behind J.D. Ricca (2005) and Travis Lane (2011), each with seven TDs in a game (Ricca-3x and Corey Sedlar each have six in a game, as well). Sido had two first-quarter TDs to senior wide receiver
Mason Cunningham (Arlington) covering nine and 20 yards, respectively, then tossed four TDs in the second quarter, including four yards to senior wide receiver
Jordan Jackson (Fredericksburg), six yards to sophomore wide receiver
Manning Lasso (Raleigh, NC), 24 yards to sophomore wide receiver
Tyler Hendley (Charlotte, NC) and then 92 yards to Cunningham—their third scoring connection of the first half toward an insurmountable 48-7 lead at halftime.
Sido leads the ODAC in passing touchdowns (14), passing efficiency (191.2), total offense (980) and total offense per game (245.0), and is second in passing yards (884), passing yards per game (221.0) and completion percentage (56.6). Carter ranks third in NCAA Division III passing yards per completion (18.81), fourth in passing touchdowns, eighth in yards per pass attempt (10.65) and points responsible for (84), 11th in passing efficiency, 20th in points responsible for per game (21.0) and 37th in passing yards.
H-SC (4-0, 2-0) returns home next weekend to welcome ODAC opponent Washington and Lee University on Saturday, October 4, at 1 p.m. on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium during Family Weekend at the College. The Tigers are 4-0 for the first time since 2010, while the 69 points scored at GC are the most scored under second-year head coach
Vince Luvara, and the highest total since a 70-28 non-conference home win past Greensboro (NC) College on September 17, 2022—and surpassing a 68-24 ODAC home win past Guilford on Oct. 27, 2012.
