SALEM, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell 165-33 in its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) meet against Roanoke College on Friday evening at the Salem YMCA.

The same foursome competed in both relays for H-SC, with senior
Jackson Piazza (Birmingham, AL), junior
Mason Brooking (Orange), sophomore
Quinlan Ragsdale (Charlottesville), and freshman
Ryan Barnett (Killeen, TX) taking a fourth-place finish in the first relay, the 200 Yard Medley Relay, with a time of 1:55.69, and a fourth place in the final relay, the 400 Yard Freestyle, posting a time of 4:08.05.

The first individual event for the Tigers was the 200 Yard Freestyle, that saw Brooking be the top of three finishers in fourth place with a time of 2:178.76. Barnett was behind him in fifth with a time of 2:36.57, and freshman
Nikolias Theriault (Poland, ME) finished sixth with a time of 2:39.63.

The 100 Yard Backstroke saw Ragsdale grab a second-place finish with a time of 58.93, exactly four seconds off the top spot. Piazza grabbed a fifth place in the event with a time of 1:10.98.

Piazza then grabbed a second place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:18.43.

The 100 Yard Freestyle saw Brooking and Theriault swim for H-SC, with Brooking posting a time of 56.98 for fourth place and Theriault posting a time of 1:11.42 for fifth.

Ragsdale was the lone Tiger in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing in third place with a time of 2:13.39.

Barnett was the lone swimmer for H-SC in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, finishing third with a time of 3:06.83.

Theriault grabbed a fourth-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with his time of 7:50.72.

Brooking was the top of two Tigers in the 100 Yard Butterfly, finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:05.90. Barnett finished behind him in fifth with a time of 1:29.59.

The final individual event of the meet saw Ragsdale come home as the top finisher for H-SC in the 200 Yard IM, posting a time of 2:18.44 for fourth. Piazza came home in fifth with a time of 2:33.00.

The Tigers will be back in action when they travel to Ashland to take on Randolph-Macon College on Friday, November 14. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Estes Aquatic Center.
