HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fifth-year head coach Caleb Kimbrough has been voted the 2023-24 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, as announced today by the NABC. In addition, senior team captain Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) and senior Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) were each voted First Team All-District 6. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division III. In addition, Brazil and Hubbard were each named First Team All-Region 6 by D3hoops.com, as announced today, as well.

Adam Brazil is a second-year team captain who has started 31 of 32 games, averaging 13.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 32.1 minutes … shooting 43% (149-348) from the field, 41% (71-174) on three-point field goals and 87% (60-69) at the free throw line. He adds 29 steals and is the team leader in three-pointers, three-point attempts, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, assists (121) and minutes (1027). Brazil has posted career-highs of 27 points, 10 assists, five three-pointers and 38 minutes, along with season-highs of seven rebounds and four steals. He has posted 21 double-figure scoring games, a team-best nine 20-point games, and has led team in scoring nine times and in assists 16 times with one double-double (assists). Adam was named First Team All-ODAC, and leads the ODAC in assist/turnover ratio (2.88, 15th nationally), ranks second in three-point percentage, third in free throw percentage, tied for fourth in assists per game and is seventh in three-pointers per game (2.2).

Davidson Hubbard has also started 31 of 32 games, averaging 15.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 28.8 minutes … shooting 47% (193-410) from the field, 32% (46-143) on three-pointers and 82% (51-62) at the line. He adds 29 steals and 13 blocks, and is the team leader in points (483), scoring average, field goals, field goal attempts, rebounds (231), rebound average, offensive rebounds (63) and defensive rebounds (168). Hubbard has posted career-highs of 31 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, four three-pointers and 37 minutes, along with a season-high three steals. He has posted 26 double-figure scoring games, including one 30-point game among eight 20-point games, and has led the team in scoring 12 times and in rebounding 20 times with five double-doubles and a team-best 19 dunks. Hubbard was named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, was the USBWA Division III National Player of the Week and ODAC Player of the Week, while named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, and was also named the Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic MVP. Davidson was named First Team All-ODAC and ranks sixth in the ODAC in scoring and rebounding.
 
Caleb Kimbrough has led the program to a new school record for wins (30), while making just the third NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Final Four appearance in program history, and first since 2003. H-SC won its record-11th ODAC Tournament title on February 25, while playing in its record-16th ODAC championship game. The Garnet & Grey currently have 11-straight wins and 25 wins in their last 26 games overall toward their first 30-win season and only the sixth 25-win season in program history. It's the 17th overall 20-win season—also the second consecutive 20-win campaign to mark the first time since 2002-03 (28-4) and 2003-04 (25-5) with back-to-back 20-win seasons. Coach Kimbrough won his 100th game as a collegiate head coach with a 71-47 road win at Virginia Wesleyan on Feb. 14, and is currently 82-37 (.689) at the College, ranking seventh among the 19 head coaches in the program's tradition-rich history in wins, while his current winning percentage ranks second.
