Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) has been named the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played December 2-8. Adam averaged 28.0 points in two games, including a perfect 21-21 at the free throw line, adding five assists, three rebounds and three steals to lead the nationally-ranked No. 12 Tigers to a pair of ODAC wins, earning the conference's offensive honors for the third time in five weeks this season.
Adam scored a game-high 31 points, making 8-19 field goals (2-6 3FGs), while 13-13 on free throws, adding four assists, two rebounds and two steals during an 85-80 home win past (RV)Roanoke College on Dec. 4 in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. He followed with a game-high 25 points, making 8-12 field goals (1-2 3FGs), while 8-8 on free throws, adding one rebound, one assist and one steal during a 79-72 road win at archrival (RV)Randolph-Macon on Dec. 7 in Ashland. It's the first time that the Garnet & Grey have swept the two-game regular season series against the Yellow Jackets since 2013, including the 84-77 home win on November 13, and the first regular season ODAC win against RMC since February 1, 2017 (63-56) in Fleet Gym.
Through seven games, Adam is averaging 26.0 points—tied for fourth in NCAA Division III—3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 34.7 minutes, while shooting 53% (62-117) on field goals, including 33% (13-40) on three-point field goals, and 90% (45-50) at the free throw line, and has now made 22 consecutive free throws over the last three games. He ranks 20th in program history with 1,240 career points in 100 career games.
H-SC (6-1, 2-0 ODAC) will be idle this week for fall semester exams before hosting non-conference opponent William Peace (NC) University on Friday night, December 13, at 7 p.m. in Fleet Gym. As a reminder, its Free Admission to all regular season home games at the College.
