Charlie Cobb Classic | Feature on Mr. Cobb (hsc.edu, 2020)
Charlie Cobb '69
was a fiercely loyal, generous and kind man who loved his family, his friends and Hampden-Sydney College. He is deeply missed in so many ways, but rest assured that he is watching and enjoying (and coaching) every minute of every game from above. His legacy lives on thanks to Charlie's family and friends who continue to support the program that meant so much to him, with further thanks to the coaching staff that has organized the Charlie Cobb Classic for years to come. Unfortunately, Mr. Cobb passed away on August 15, 2022.

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the sixth-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 115-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 91-39 at the College, ranking seventh in program coaching wins, while his current winning percentage (.700) ranks second all-time. He is the back-to-back National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III District 6 Coach of the Year (2022-23, 2023-24), and was the 2022-23 ODAC Men's Basketball Bob Johnson Coach of the Year.
