Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) has been named the
Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played December 18, 2023-January 1, 2024. Hubbard averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds with five three-point field goals, four assists and three steals during an 85-67 road win at nationally-ranked No. 1 John Carroll (OH) University, and a 64-58 home win past Salisbury (MD) University.
Hubbard, a 6-5 forward, scored a career-high and game-high 31 points (13-23 FGs, 3-9 3FGs, 2-2 FTs), adding a game-high nine rebounds, along with three assists and two steals during the road win at No. 1 John Carroll on Dec. 19 … and followed with 12 points (5-10 FGs, 2-5 3FGs) and a game-high 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and 20th of his career, adding two steals, during the home win past Salisbury on Dec. 30. He leads the nationally-ranked No. 6 Tigers in scoring (15.2), rebounding (8.0) and field goal percentage (51%, 68-134), adding 1.0 assists, along with 12 steals and two blocks—shooting 39% (19-49) on three-pointers and 80% (12-15) at the free throw line.
H-SC is 10-1 overall, 2-1 in the ODAC, and plays on the road at ODAC member Ferrum College (12-1, 3-1 ODAC) on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m. in Ferrum.
