Luke Helfgott (Arlington) made a huge impact off the bench scoring three goals and dishing out four helpers. Seniors
Aidan Byrne (Charlotte, NC) and
Max Koontz (Winston-Salem, NC) each scored two goals and had one assist, and fellow classmate
Nick Scheer (Lakeville, MN) scored twice.

Patrick Saunders (Alexandria) got the scoring started one minute and 16 seconds into the game, finishing off the pass from freshman
Patrick Hanes (Raleigh, NC). O'Brien scored his first of the game just 74 seconds later as senior
Talmadge Hope (Richmond) found him with the pass. Senior
Nick Thompson (Midlothian) was the next to find the back of the net, scoring 50 seconds after O'Brien. O'Brien grabbed his hat trick by scoring two goals within nine seconds, scoring the first off a Thompson pass and the second coming from Hope once again. Junior
Michael Leone (Vienna) scored the sixth goal of the first quarter for H-SC off the first of four assists from Helfgott. Hope scored on the man advantage at the seven-minute mark, finishing off the pass from Saunders. Helfgott got his first goal with 4:31 remaining in the opening period, as freshman
Davis Mack (Henrico) found him with the pass. Scheer closed out the scoring in the first quarter, finishing off the feed from freshman
Tyler Steele (Pinehurst, NC) to cap off a nine-goal start to the game and lead 9-0 after 15 minutes.
Byrne opened the scoring in the second quarter to push the H-SC run to 10 before the Cougars answered just under two minutes later. O'Brien pushed the lead back to 10 off a Leone assist and was followed up 15 seconds later by a Helfgott goal off a Scheer assist. Koontz got his first goal of the contest at the 6:53 mark, finishing off the Helfgott assist. Sophomore
Stuart Kyle (Leesburg) scored his first career goal in the second quarter, followed by Koontz's second goal. Freshman
Cameron Young (Chantilly) capped off a six-goal run to end the quarter, by beating the horn for his first career goal and pushing the H-SC lead to 16-1 at the half.
Byrne opened the third quarter like he did the second quarter, by scoring a goal, this time scoring just over a minute into the quarter off the pass from freshman
Thomas Flagg (Williamsburg). Averett got one back to stop the run by the Tigers before freshman
Connor Erlenbach (Midlothian) got the first goal of his career two minutes later off the Helfgott assist. Helfgott capitalized on the man-up advantage with 7:26 remaining in the quarter, beating the goalie on an assist from junior
Jacob Renaud (Schenectady, NY). Scheer got his second goal of the game finishing off the fourth assist of the game from Helfgott. H-SC closed out the third quarter with a Flagg connection, as fifth-year
Marshall Flagg (Williamsburg) found his little brother
Thomas Flagg up top for the goal to take a 21-2 lead into the fourth quarter.
Averett opened the scoring in the fourth quarter and added a second goal within a minute before sophomore
Owen Hegadorn (Falls Church) got a chance on offense and capitalized by scoring his first career goal off the feed from Byrne to close the game out a 22-4 in favor of H-SC.
The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday, April 5 when they travel to Bridgewater College to take on the Eagles in ODAC action. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Jopson Athletic Complex in Bridgewater, Virginia.
