The nationally-ranked Tigers are 8-1 overall, including 2-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), following a
67-46 non-conference home win past No. 25 Swarthmore (PA) College on Dec. 14 in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. The top-ranked Blue Streaks are 8-0 overall, including 4-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), after a 92-54 OAC home win past Wilmington (OH) College on Dec. 16. It's the second time this season that H-SC is playing the No. 1 team in D3; the Tigers defeated preseason No. 1 Christopher Newport

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the fifth-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon (AL) College from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 114-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford (NC) College and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Kimbrough is 60-36 overall at the College, including 33-22 in ODAC games. The Blue Streaks are coached by seventh-year head coach Pete Moran (100-54), who has led the program to a pair of OAC Regular Season Championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. JCU has been led by junior guards Luke Chicone (20.5 points, 4.8 assists 17 3FGs) and Luke Frazier (16.5 points, 7.3 rebounds). The high-scoring Blue Streaks shoot 47% (257-545) from the field, including 34% (48-142) on three-pointers (6.0 per game), and 73% (153-211) at the line; scoring 89.4 points, and yielding 71.6 points, for a +17.8 scoring margin.
Series History
H-SC and JCU are playing for the sixth time, and the Tigers lead the series at 3-2. The Blue Streaks, however, won the most recent game between the two schools, 78-67 on Dec. 30, 2008 in Fleet Gym. H-SC is visiting JCU for the first-time ever, as the first two meetings were played at a neutral site and the last three on the Tigers' home floor. The two schools have met twice during the postseason, splitting NCAA Tournament games in 1998 (77-71, JCU, Holland, MI) and 1999 (68-51, at H-SC).

John Carroll (OH) (7-0) was ranked No. 1 with 582 points and 13 first-place votes, followed by Calvin (MI) (7-0, 581) at No. 2, fellow ODAC member Guilford (9-0, 570) at No. 3, Oswego State (NY) (7-0, 544) at No. 4 and Tufts (MA) (10-0, 493) at No. 5. Griff Aldrich '96 is in his sixth year at Longwood. Entering this season, Turner was 265-170 at UCI ... Odom was 141-85 overall, including 44-25 in two years at USU and 97-60 in five years at UMBC ... Aldrich was 88-72 at Longwood.
