Hampden-Sydney, VA -- Hampden-Sydney College men's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw with Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Averett University, Saturday night at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.
Both teams were almost deadlocked in shots with the Cougars firing on net nine times while the Tigers mustered 10 shots. It was a defense battle with little offense coming from either side. Sophomore Wills Huddleston (Baldwin, MD) made his first career start in net for Hampden-Sydney making five saves, while his counterpart on the other side junior Tyler Yates made two saves on the night.
The Tigers will be back in action when they play host to Christopher Newport University on Wednesday, September 28. The non-conference matchup is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Hellmuth-Gibson Field.
