Hampden-Sydney Welcomes Roanoke For Senior Day On Saturday At 2 p.m.

Team Captains Jake Hahn & Jack Wyatt will be recognized during special pregame ceremony

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College welcomes Roanoke College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball action on Saturday, February 12, at 2 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. It's Senior Day in Fleet Gym with a special pregame ceremony recognizing team captains Jake Hahn (Ruckersville) and Jack Wyatt (Richmond). H-SC is 11-8 overall, 6-6 in the ODAC (7th), while RC is 16-6 overall, 8-5 in the ODAC (T-4th). The contest will be available to watch via the Tiger Sports Network live video stream at hscathletics.com, pregame airing at 1:45 p.m.

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the third-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon College (AL) from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 112-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford College (NC) and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Caleb is 27-25 overall at the College, including 15-17 in ODAC games.

Scouting Hampden-Sydney
The Tigers dropped their most recent contest at Guilford, 62-59, on Feb. 8. H-SC lost to Roanoke in its first meeting this season, 70-64, on January 22 in Salem. The Tigers have three players averaging in double figures among seven scoring at least 6.9 points per game. Junior guard Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) leads the balanced-scoring team with his 12.9 points, adding 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists, followed by fifth-year forward and team captain Jake Hahn (11.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists) and sophomore forward Davidson Hubbard (Charlotte, NC) (11.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 57% FGs). H-SC is shooting 45% (530-1173) from the field, including 34% (152-450) on three-point field goals, and 72% (233-323) at the free throw line. The Tigers average 76.1 points, and allows 68.6 points, for a +7.5 scoring margin.

Scouting Roanoke
The Maroons are coached by sixth-year head coach Clay Nunley and last played on Feb. 9 at home against ODAC member Shenandoah, winning 97-57. RC has been led by junior guard/forward Kasey Draper with his 20.7 points, adding 6.9 rebounds, along with junior guard Efosa U-Edosomwan (14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds). The Maroons shoot 49% (599-1229) from the field, including 33% (121-370) on three-pointers, and 63% (277-438) at the line; scoring 72.5 points, while yielding just 61.8 points, for a +10.7 scoring margin.

ODAC Series History
H-SC and RC are playing for the 92nd time as ODAC opponents since the Maroons joined the conference prior to the 1980-81 season. The Tigers narrowly lead the closely-contested series at 46-45, though RC has won seven-straight and eight of the last nine games between the two programs since 2015-16, including the 70-64 home win past H-SC last month (Jan. 22).

Senior Day
H-SC will recognize Jake Hahn and Jack Wyatt during a special pregame ceremony. Hahn is a fifth-year team member and third-year team captain who has started 42 of 94 career games, while Wyatt is a fourth-year team member and second-year team captain who has started 29 of 65 career games. Jake has totaled 851 points and 504 rebounds for the Tigers, while Jack has totaled 609 points and 283 rebounds. H-SC Mask Policy
The College's current mask policy is that all individuals – both vaccinated and unvaccinated – are required to wear masks inside campus buildings when others are nearby (within 6 feet). Unvaccinated individuals are also required to maintain social distancing at all times. Campus visitors must abide by these precautions as well.

H-SC remains at home for its final regular season contest in Fleet Gym against ODAC opponent Bridgewater College on Monday night, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. This game was originally scheduled for Feb. 5, but was rescheduled following the recent tragedy on the Bridgewater campus.
