Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hampden-Sydney Falls 1-0 To Lynchburg In Regular Season Finale

Lynchburg, VA – The Hampden-Sydney College soccer team was scored upon with less than three minutes remaining in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season finale against the University of Lynchburg to finish, 1-0, Wednesday night at Shellenberger Field in Lynchburg, VA.

The first half saw a scoreless draw but sophomore goalkeeper Wills Huddleston (Baldwin, MD) made three saves. One of his three saves was a great diving effort to his left with the ball right in front of the net, which from the position should have found the back of the net.

For almost all of the second half, the game remained deadlocked with both sides struggling to create chances in the attacking half. The deadlock was finally broken by the Hornets with just under three minutes left to play as junior Manzi Shalita chipped a ball into the corner and passed Huddleston for the deciding goal.

The Tigers await to see if they make the postseason depending upon results coming and what seed they will be. Check our website later in the week to see who they will be playing upon making the ODAC quarterfinals.
