HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College will host Guilford (NC) College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball action on Tuesday night, January 25, at 7 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. The host Tigers are 9-5 overall, 4-3 in the ODAC, while the visiting Quakers are 10-3 overall, 6-0 in the ODAC. Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the third-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon College (AL) from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 112-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the ODAC, having played four years at Guilford and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Caleb is 25-22 overall at the College, including 13-14 in ODAC games.

The Quakers are coached by 20th-year head coach Tom Palombo and last played on Jan. 22 against ODAC member Shenandoah, winning 79-53. GC has won eight-straight games, and 10 of its last 11 contests overall, while led by senior forward Liam Ward (19.2 points, 8.2 rebounds), junior guard Tyler Dearman (14.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 23 3FGs) and junior forward Julius Burch (10.0 points, 8.5 rebounds). The Quakers shoot 43% (341-794) from the field, including 35% (85-240) on three-pointers, and 70% (155-222) at the line; scoring 70.9 points, yielding just 61.8 points.
ODAC Series History
H-SC and GC are playing for the 58th time as ODAC opponents since the Quakers joined the conference prior to the 1991-92 season. The Tigers lead the league series at 36-21, though GC did win the most recent contest between the two schools,
93-68, on February 15, 2020 in Greensboro. H-SC, however, won the first meeting that season,
54-52, on Jan. 4, 2020 at home in Fleet Gym when the Quakers were ranked No. 21 nationally.
Three-Straight At Home This Week - Tickets Needed For Randolph-Macon Game
H-SC is at home this week for three consecutive ODAC games, beginning against Guilford and followed by a contest against archrival and nationally-ranked No. 1 Randolph-Macon College on Thursday night, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m., before concluding against Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m.
The contest against No. 1 Randolph-Macon will be a ticketed game. Tickets are FREE, but only those with tickets will be allowed to enter Fleet Gym. Please stop by the athletic office in the Kirk Athletic Center between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily to pick-up tickets for the game. If there are any tickets remaining, those tickets will be available when the doors open on Thursday at 6 p.m.
