Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the third-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon College (AL) from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 112-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), having played four years at Guilford College (NC) and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Caleb is 22-17 overall at the College, including 11-11 in ODAC games.
Series History
H-SC and CNU are playing for the 13th time overall since the 1975-76 season, but for the first time in 24-plus years ... last playing on March 6, 1997 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Captains won that game in Fleet Gym by a score of 79-74, and lead the series at 7-5. The Tigers last win against CNU was by a score of 78-71 on March 2, 1995, also in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Fleet Gym.
Scouting the Tigers
H-SC has opened the season with six-straight victories, including a
79-52 conference home win past Eastern Mennonite on Dec. 4. The Tigers have four players averaging in double figures among nine scoring at least 5.4 points per game through six contests. Junior guard
Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) leads the balanced-scoring team with his 13.7 points, adding 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while fifth-year forward and team captain
Jake Hahn (Ruckersville) (8-13 3FGs) adds 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds off the bench. Sophomore guard
Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) (17-32 3FGs) contributes 13.3 points, and sophomore guard
DJ Wright (Greensboro, GA) (12 3FGs) averages 10.6 points. H-SC is shooting an impressive 50% (187-378) from the field, including 42% (62-148) on three-point field goals, and 74% (83-112) at the free throw line. The high-scoring Tigers are averaging 86.5 points, and allowing 65.5 points, for a +21.0 scoring margin.

The Captains are playing their second game in three days, following a 79-74 home win past ODAC member Lynchburg on Dec. 12 in their most recent contest. CNU has been led by sophomore forward Trey Barber (13.3 points, 6.7 rebounds), fifth-year guard Jason Aigner (12.1 points, 26 3FGs), and sophomore forward Jahn Hines (11.8 points, 6.7 rebounds). The Captains shoot 46% (270-589) from the field, including 38% (77-205) on three-pointers, and 65% (114-175) at the line; scoring 81.2 points, yielding 67.7 points.

H-SC Mask Policy
The College's current
mask policy is that all individuals – both vaccinated and unvaccinated – are required to wear masks inside campus buildings when others are nearby (within 6 feet). Unvaccinated individuals are also required to maintain social distancing at all times. Campus visitors must abide by these precautions as well.

The Tigers will host the
H-SC Classic on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18-19, in Fleet Gym. The two-day event will include fellow ODAC member Ferrum, along with Mary Washington and No. 23 Maryville. The Tigers will play Mary Washington on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m., and No. 23 Maryville on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. Ferrum and Maryville will play on Dec. 18 at 4 p.m., and the Panthers will play Mary Washington on Dec. 19 at 4 p.m.
