HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lynchburg turned four consecutive Tiger turnovers to start the game into a 7-0 lead after two minutes
  • Lynchburg made it 10-2 two possessions later, but back-to-back three pointers from seniors Zack Tabrani and JaVonte Reddick trimmed the deficit down to 10-8 at 16:09
  • Lynchburg proceeded to explode for a 14-0 run to go out in front 24-8 with 9:20 to play in the half
  • The Tigers answered with a big run of their own, scoring 10 of the next 12 to find themselves down just 26-18 at the 7:17 mark
  • With the Hornets up nine, 29-20, at 5:22, Malik Crute connected on a three and two Guilherme Guimaraes free throws found H-SC down only four, 29-25, at 4:22
  • H-SC cut the deficit to just two with just over a minute to play and went into halftime down 38-34
  • The Tigers opened the second half with the first bucket to trail by only two, but Zack Burnett buried consecutive three pointers to put the Hornets ahead eight, 44-26, two minutes in, spurring a 19-6 run to break open the game

  • Chaise Johnson scored a career-high 10 points off the bench

  • Zack Burnett tallied game-highs of 33 points, eight rebounds, and three steals
  • Jay Allen contributed 12 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals
  • Connor Schroeder scored 15
