Lynchburg College topped Hampden-Sydney Basketball 94-76 on Wednesday night behind a big first half.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hampden-Sydney took early momentum in the game, scoring the first five points of the contest and leading 12-6 just over four minutes into the game
• From there, the Hornets took over, using a 12-0 run over the next five minutes to burst ahead to an 18-12 lead at 10:46
• The Tigers scored the next four points to trail just two, 18-16, with 9:34 remaining in the half, but LC would go on to post a 25-4 run to break open the game with a 43-20 lead with 2:23 to go into the half.
• Lynchburg went into halftime leading 48-25
• The Tigers showed much offensive improvement in the second half, putting up 51 points and outscoring the Hornets by five in the frame

• JaVonte Reddick scored 16 points, shooting 6-9 overall and 4-5 from three
• Logan Samuels totaled 14 points and a game-high seven rebounds
• Chaise Johnson scored nine points to go with three steals
• Jake Duncan contributed eight points and five boards

• Zack Burnett scored a game-high 24 points with five rebounds
• Connor Schroeder added 18 points and six boards

• H-SC shot 42% overall, 6-21 from three, and 22-38 from the foul line while Lynchburg went 53% overall, 13-26 beyond the arc, and 17-22 on free throws
• In the second half, H-SC shot 47% from the floor, 5-11 from the three point line, and made 14 of 23 free throws with just three turnovers.
