HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A combination of strong defense, hot shooting, and only one turnover in the opening 20 minutes proved to be a great formula for the Tigers
  • H-SC opened with the first two baskets, the second assisted by Mike Murray to set a new H-SC career record for assists, breaking the previous record of 410.
  • Michael Taylor's jumper at 16:23 would prove to be R-MC's only points in the first eight minutes of the game.
  • The Tigers poured in 15 points over the next four minutes, including two three pointers from Jake Hackworth, as H-SC led 19-2 at the 12:08 mark of the first half
  • While the Yellow Jacket offense finally began to find some traction over the next few minutes, they couldn't figure out a way to stop the Tigers as the H-SC lead grew to 20, 28-8, with 8:28 left in the half
  • R-MC was able to get the deficit down to 14 on a couple occasions, but the Tigers went into the half up 45-25 as a Hunter Kuehn tip-in shot went in at the halftime buzzer
  • H-SC came out firing in the second half, scoring seven of the first nine to push the advantage to 25, but R-MC gradually began chipping away at the lead but never could get the deficit to less than 12 the entire second half
