HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hampden-Sydney took an early five-point lead, going up 7-2 after a Logan Samuels three pointer just over two minutes in.
• Guilford started pulling away from there, going on an 18-3 run to surge ahead by 10 at the 11:27 mark.
• Guilford would go on the lead by as many as 17 in the opening half and led 41-26 going into halftime
• Guilford led by double digits the entire second half, but the Tigers were able to trim the deficit to just 11, 62-51, with 2:32 to play, but the Quakers scored the next five points

TIGER TOP PERFORMERS

• Guilherme Guimaraes posted 10 points and six rebounds as he shot 5-6 from the floor
• Kevin Quinn scored 10 points, going 3-5 from three
• Samuels tallied six points to go with a game-high eight assists
• Jake Duncan contributed six points and a team-high six rebounds

FOR THE FOES

• Carson Long scored a game-high 17 points to go with six boards
• Alston Thompson tacked on 13 points, six caroms, and two blocks
• Zachary Houston added on to his league-leading rebound total with 11 boards and handed out five assists

STATS OF THE GAME

• Guilford outrebounded Hampden-Sydney 39-30
• The Quakers shot 45% for the game and were 14-19 from the foul line. The Tigers shot 38% and went 6-10 from the charity stripe
• GC had advantages in points off turnovers (14-5), second chance points (13-6), and points in the paint (24-16).
