HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both teams struggled mightily to score in the first half, but the Tigers scored nine of the last 13 points to go into halftime up 27-23
  • The offensive struggles continued in to the second half for H-SC as it took over five minutes to score a point, and the Tigers trailed 30-29 at 14:40
  • H-SC regained the lead at 34-32 at the 10:55 mark, but Logan Seacrist made back-to-back three pointers to put the Eagles ahead 38-34.
  • The Eagles lead ballooned to eight, 45-37, at the 7:14 mark, but following a Hampden-Sydney timeout, H-SC scored five straight off a Jake Duncan (Williamsburg, VA/Williamsburg Christian) layup and an Andrew Evans (Raleigh, NC/Millbrook) three pointer to trim the deficit down to 45-42 at 6:48
  • Bridgewater ended up outscoring Hampden-Sydney 25-13 over the last 6:48 of play and would lead by as many as 20.

  • Mike Murray (Norfolk, VA/Norfolk Christian) paced H-SC with 10 points, four assists, and three steals

  • Jesse Case scored 24 points with 21 coming in the second half
  • Seacrist tallied 16 points, 11 in the second half, with seven boards
