Box Score EMORY, VA – Hampden-Sydney basketball scored at least 40 points in each half en route to an 85-57 win on the road at Emory & Henry College on Saturday.
Hampden-Sydney got off to a slow start as Emory & Henry led throughout the first seven minutes of the contest, but their last lead was 12-11 with 13:09 left in the half. From there, it was all Tigers as a 12-1 run put H-SC ahead 24-12, and they would lead by double digits the remainder of the game with an advantage as large as 34.
Mike Murray (Norfolk, VA / Norfolk Christian) had one of the best games of his career, scoring 20 points with a career-high nine rebounds. He also tacked on four assists and three steals. He shot 7-8 from the field and 3-3 from three. Kodie Critzer (Charlottesville, VA / St. Anne's-Belfield) shot 4-7 from beyond the arc for 12 points and four boards, and Khobi Williamson (Norfolk, VA / Maury) added 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
Kevin Anzenberger and Malcolm Green each scored 13 for Emory & Henry while Charles Smith posted 10.
The Tigers shot 59.2% for the afternoon while limiting the Wasps to a 32.7% output. H-SC was also on fire from three, making 11 of 21 attempts and holding E&H to 5-for-22 from the arc. Hampden-Sydney outrebounded Emory & Henry 41-32 and got a massive 53 points from its bench.
Hampden-Sydney hosts Lynchburg College on Wednesday at 7 pm.
