2015 SEASON

• Missed over half the season with a knee injury
• Came back to play in seven games while making four starts, giving the Tiger defense a tough and physical presence

2014 SEASON

• Continued to show his worth as one of the top defenders on the team
• Played and started in 12 games as he missed several due to nagging injuries
• Helped the Tiger defense allow just 17 goals, the fourth fewest in a season in team history
• H-SC posted seven shutouts, eighth most in team history
• Was a critical cog on a defense that allowed one or fewer goals in 12 out of 18 matches

2013 SEASON

• Established himself as a premier defender on the squad with his size, athleticism, and toughness
• Played 17 games and started 16
• Was an instrumental asset on a defense that set a season record for fewest goals allowed (16), recorded seven shutouts, and allowed one or fewer goals in 14 of 18 contests.

2012 SEASON

• Played in 14 games
• Strain was a factor on defense in a reserve role from the start of the season and only an early October injury prevented him from playing in all 17 matches.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB

• Played striker and center back, earning all conference and all-state in 2010 and the coach's award in 2011
• A starter on the 2007 VISAA Division II State Championship team
• Lettered for three years as a defensive midfielder in lacrosse
• His 2010 lacrosse team was the VISAA Division III state champions and the 2012 VISAA Division II state runners up
• An eight year member of the Roanoke Star Elite soccer team.

PERSONAL

• The son of Brian and Charlotte Strain
• Has one sister, Sarah.

WHY DID I CHOOSE H-SC?

• "It's a school where I can succeed academically and also succeed as an athlete on the soccer field. It is a good size for me and graduating will give me more opportunities than other students at other schools."
