Biography
The Book on VanBenthuysen: A hardworking athlete on and off the field...Always plays with intensity and great communication...Will again be in the starting defensive rotation and one of the top leaders of an exciting defensive unit in 2010.
College: Continued to be a contributor for the Tigers, playing in 16 contests ... Started every game of the 2009 season for the Tigers and became one of the up and coming leaders of the Tiger defense...With good strength and knowledge of the Tiger defensive system, VanBenthuysen matched up against many of the opponent's top finishers...VanBenthuysen played in four games as a freshman in 2008.
High School: Played lacrosse, football, and wrestling at Regis Jesuit ... Earned High School All-American honors in his senior season in lacrosse ... First-Team All-State and All-City twice and All-Conference three times ... Also captained the lacrosse team and earned the team's Most Inspirational award ... Two-time member of Team Colorado ... Earned All-Conference in football as a linebacker and guard.
