- Transferred to Christchurch as a junior
- Named the Christchurch 2013 Male Student of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year
- Played on the lacrosse team for two seasons under H-SC alum Vince Smith
- Honorable Mention All-Prep League in 2012 and First-Team in 2013
- Named First-Team All-State as a senior
- Played the center position on the basketball team
- Also played on the football team as a wide receiver, tight end, defensive end, kicker, and punter
- Received numerous individual honors on the All-State teams and the All-Old Dominion Football Conference teams.
PERSONAL
- Son of Steven and Mallory Horbal
- Has two brothers, Wythe and Wesley
- Brother, Wythe, played soccer for four years at VMI and also one year of football
