Biography
2010-11: Sumner has the potential to be a great combo guard for the Tigers and could make an immediate impact. He has a high basketball IQ, helping make his a great passer and point guard. Also a solid shooter, Sumner can knock down the open look. A tough competitor, Sumner plays and works very hard.
High School/AAU Career: Played four years as a point guard under coach Dan Ghent at Forestview High School. Averaged 12 points and five assists-per-game as a senior en route to being named Big South All-Conference, North Carolina All-District and the North Carolina Western Regional MVP. Also played shooting guard for four years for the DITRA AAU team.
Personal: Born August 9, 1991. Son of Rob and Jane Sumner. Has two siblings, Mary (29) and Andy (25).
