William Edgar is in his first year as an assistant football coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2025-26, serving as the defensive line coach, video coordinator and assistant recruiting coordinator (defense). He previously served as an assistant coach at Geneva (PA) College since January 2023.
Edgar coached defensive backs and safeties in 2023, and was the defensive line and quality control coach in 2024. Prior to that, Edgar was an assistant coach at Waynesburg (PA) Central High School, serving as co-defensive coordinator, offensive line and linebackers coach in 2021, and was the special team coordinator, offensive line and defensive line coach in 2022. He was the defensive coordinator, offensive line and linebackers coach at Brownsville (PA) Area High School in 2020.
A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, William graduated from Waynesburg (PA) University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration: sports management, and is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in higher education at Geneva.
