Tyler Peterson is in his first year as an assistant football coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2025-26, serving as the tight ends coach, assistant special teams coordinator, assistant director of football operations and assistant video coordinator. He previously served as the wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator at Highland (KS) Community College since May 2025, where he was involved in all aspects of the program, including creation of the offensive playbook for this season. Peterson had served as a student assistant at Washington State University from February 2024 to May 2025 where he worked under current head coach Jimmy Rogers and Jake Dicker, now at Wake Forest University. WSU finished 8-5 in 2024 and played in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
A native of Hockinson, Washington, Tyler graduated from Washington State in 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science. Peterson earned an Associate of Arts degree at Clark (WA) College in 2022 where he was a member of the cross country and track and field programs. He has additional football coaching experience at Lincoln Middle School (2023-24) in Pullman, Washington, as well as with the Pullman School District (track and field, 2023).
