Delquan Bigelow is in his first year as an assistant football coach at Hampden-Sydney College during 2023-24, serving as the running backs coach. Bigelow had served as the running backs coach at Chatham High School in Chatham during 2022.
Delquan was a three-year letterman at running back for Averett University in Danville, playing in 18 career games in 2017, 2019 and Spring 2021 (non-traditional and shortened season due to COVID-19), while missing the 2018 campaign due to an injury. He rushed for 327 career yards on 71 career carries, including a career-long run of 26 yards, with two career rushing touchdowns, adding 13 career receptions for 113 career receiving yards, including a career-long reception of 25 yards, and two career receiving touchdowns—one scored during a 28-16 road win at H-SC to open the 2019 season (25 yards). Bigelow was also a return specialist with 22 career kick returns for 493 yards, including a career long return of 55 yards. He was named to the USA South All-Conference First Team as a return specialist in 2017.
A native of Farmville and a graduate of Prince Edward County High School, Delquan is a 2021 graduate of Averett with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education.
