Jonathan Triesler '20 is in his first year as a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Hampden-Sydney during 2020-21, working primarily with the hitters and outfielders. 

Triesler was a four-year team member with the Tigers (2017-20), starting 93 of 114 career games. He posted a career batting average of .322 (102-317) with five home runs, 23 doubles, 55 runs, 55 RBIs, 28 walks, four sacrifice flies, six sacrifice hits and eight stolen bases with a career on-base percentage of .381, a slugging percentage of .442 and a fielding percentage of .936 (107 putouts, 232 assists, 23 errors). Triesler also made 45 career mound appearances, starting 16 games with one complete game for a career record of 10-4, a 4.55 ERA, 138.1 innings pitched, 127 strikeouts (8.26/9), 52 walks (3.38/9) and six saves. He is a two-time All-ODAC selection, earning Second Team honors in 2017 and Third Team honors in 2018.

Triesler is a native of Chesterfield and earned a Bachelor’s degree in history at H-SC. He will play professionally during the summer of 2021 for the Alpine Cowboys in Alpine, Texas of the independent Pecos League which operates in cities throughout California, New Mexico, Southern Arizona, Kansas, West Texas and Southern Colorado.
