Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC) and sophomore
James Woerner (Kill Devil Hills, NC) took singles and doubles victories as Hampden-Sydney College closed out its spring break trip with a 7-0 win over the University of Northwestern (MN) on Friday afternoon.

Casey Coffey (Midlothian), kicked things off from the top doubles spot, securing a 7-5 win. Woerner teamed up with sophomore
Jonathan Fogle (Midlothian) and grabbed a 6-2 win to secure the doubles point for the Tigers. Freshmen
Slade Funderburk (Camden, SC) and
Sam Robinson (Charlotte, NC) played a tight match in the second doubles slot, falling 7-2 in a tiebreaker to drop the match 7(7)-6(2).
Davis got singles action started much like he did doubles, winning both sets 6-0 to cruise to victory. Senior
Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) kept it rolling in the second singles slot, taking a 6-0 first set victory before following it up with a 6-2 win in set two. Funderburk jumped out to an early lead with a 6-3 win in set one and secured his match with a 6-2 win in the second set, while Woerner got his singles victory after taking set one 6-1, he followed it with a 6-4 set two win for the match win. Ben Price (Charlotte, NC) was the Tiger in the fifth singles slot, and he jumped out to an early lead with a 6-2 set one, and played a comfortable set two, winning 6-1 to take the match. In the final singles match, sophomore
Landon Bivens (Lynchburg) took both sets 6-4 for the win.
The Tigers will be back in action when they host Roanoke College on Friday, March 20, to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the H-SC Tennis Courts
