ORLANDO, Fl. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell 4-0 to Wabash (IN) College on Thursday evening.
Senior
Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and junior
Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC) teamed up in the top doubles slot for the Tigers but fell in the match 6-2. Freshmen
Slade Funderburk (Camden, SC) and
Sam Robinson (Charlotte, NC) fell 6-2 in the second doubles match, while sophomores
Jonathan Fogle (Midlothian) and
Emerson Rice (Columbia, SC) also fell 6-2.
Three of the six singles matches finished on the evening, with Coffey, Fogle, and sophomore
Landon Bivens (Lynchburg) posting a result. Coffey was the Tiger in the number three singles slot and dropped both sets 6-0. Fogle was in the number four singles slot and fell in set one 6-3 before a second set 6-0 loss. Bivens was the last match to finish, where he dropped the first set 6-2 and then dropped the second set 6-4.
The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, March 13, when they take on the University of Northwestern (MN) at 10:30 a.m. to close out the spring break trip in Orlando, Florida.
