HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College is ranked No. 8 nationally in the week 11 D3hoops.com Top 25. The Tigers, ranked fourth last week, earned 428 points in this week's poll. H-SC is 20-4 overall, 13-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), and remains among the Top 10 for the ninth consecutive ranking. The Tigers have won 10 of their last 11 games overall.
Wesleyan (CT) University (24-0) is ranked first again this week with 623 points, including 24 first-place votes, followed by New York University (21-1, 596) at No. 2, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (21-2, 581, 1) at No. 3, fellow ODAC member Randolph-Macon College (20-3, 510) at No. 4, the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse (19-4, 493) at No. 5, Trinity (CT) College (21-3, 473) at No. 6, Emory (GA) University (18-4, 434) at No. 7,
H-SC at No. 8, defending NCAA Division III National Champion Trine (IN) University (20-3, 390) at No. 9 and Christopher Newport University (20-4, 386) at No. 10. ODAC member Roanoke College (19-4, 90) is ranked No. 23 this week, while Virginia Wesleyan University (7) is receiving votes in the poll. The Tigers own two wins past RMC earlier this season by scores of 84-77 (11/13/24, Home) and 79-72 (12/7/24, Away), won on the road at CNU (74-71, 11/19/24) and defeated Roanoke at home (85-80, 12/4/24), as well.
H-SC had its recent 10-game winning streak stopped at Roanoke (81-72) this past Saturday in Salem and returns home to welcome ODAC member Eastern Mennonite University in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, February 22, at 2 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House for
Senior Day. The Tigers have secured a Top Four finish during the ODAC regular season, and will host an ODAC Tournament Quarterfinal contest next Wednesday night, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in Fleet Gym. As a reminder, it's free admission for all regular season home athletic contests at the College.
