LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College fell to Division I College of Charleston, 7-0, but rebounded to win every match and take a 7-0 win over Mary Baldwin University, Saturday at the Crosswhite Athletic Club.

Barrett Foster (Virginia Beach) and sophomore
Thomas Davis (Charlotte, NC) played a very close doubles match in the top slot, forcing tiebreakers but fell in the tiebreaker 7-3 to drop the match 7

Casey Coffey (Midlothian) and
Dillon McReynolds (Abingdon) fell in the second doubles match 6-1. In the final doubles match, senior
Matt Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) and freshman
Jonathan Fogle (Midlothian) fell 6-2.
In singles action, Foster competed in the top singles, falling by a score of 6-2, 6-2, and McReynolds fell in the second singles match 6-2, 6-0. Davis competed in the third singles match and was defeated 6-2, 6-1. Freshman
Emerson Rice (Columbia, SC) dropped his match in the fourth slot by a 6-4, 6-3 scoreline. Senior
Henry Singleton (Richmond) fell in the fifth singles match 6-1, 6-1, with
Matt Kendrick dropping the final singles match of the overall match 6-0, 6-0.
The second match of the day saw the Tigers get off to a great start with Singleton and Rice taking a 6-1 victory in the top doubles slot. In the second slot, senior
John Kendrick (Birmingham, AL) and freshman
Landon Bivens (Lynchburg) took a dominant 6-0 win. In the final doubles match, senior
Nick Beaudoin (Norfolk) and freshman
James Woerner (Kill Devil Hills, NC) added another dominant 6-0 win.
Rice opened up singles action with a great 6-1, 6-0 win in the top slot for his first singles win in duals matches, and was followed up by Fogle in the second slot with a 6-1, 6-0 win for his first career dual match singles victory. Woerner took a 6-1, 6-0 win in the third slot for his first career singles win, with Bivens also taking his first career singles win in the fourth slot 6-1, 6-0.
John Kendrick took a full sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 match in the fifth slot, and Beaudoin closed out singles action with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
The Tigers will be back in action when they play at home against Southern Virginia University. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the H-SC Tennis Courts.
