H-SC Holiday Classic presented by Elder, Friedman & Allen on Friday night on the new Tony Shaver Court in Diaz Arena at the renovated Kirby Field House. The host Tigers closed the first half on a 14-2 run to lead 36-18 at halftime en route to the victory, playing their first game in 13 days. H-SC improved to 6-2 overall, while visiting Phoenix dropped to 3-9 overall, led by Winston Raford with 19 points off the bench.

H-SC took an early 14-5 lead at 11:48 with points from Moye (4), junior guard
William Britt (Richmond) (4), sophomore guard
Santana Lynch (Dallas, TX) (4) and Bizzelle (2). A three-point field goal by Moye made it 17-8 with 10:48 on the clock, and another basket by Moye had the Tigers ahead 21-13 at 8:29. Wilson closed to within 22-16 with 5:47 left in the opening half, but the Garnet & Grey closed strong with their 14-2 run to take control with five different players scoring, including four points each from Bizzelle and junior center
Alex Cannon (Loganville), and two points each by Britt, Lynch and sophomore guard
Travis Stickney (Mount Pleasant, SC) … for their 36-18 halftime advantage.
H-SC continued its momentum in the second half, leading 38-18 at 19:20 after a jumper by Moye, 40-20 at 17:56 following a basket inside from Cannon and 45-25 after a three-pointer by Stickney with 16:47 remaining. A three-pointer from Bizzelle made it 56-39 at 11:20, but the Phoenix used a 14-7 run to get within 63-53 with 8:32 on the clock. The Tigers responded with a quick 10-1 run of their own with five points from senior guard
Colin Radcliffe (Richlands, NC), including a three-pointer, to lead 73-54 at 6:09, while outscoring the visitors 23-14 toward the final margin of victory.
Moye led H-SC with his game-high 20 points and career-high eight rebounds. Bizzelle posted his 13 points off the bench for the Tigers. Stickney contributed 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, while Lynch had 10 points and equaled his career-high with a game-high 12 rebounds. Britt added career-highs of nine points and six rebounds, and Cannon equaled his career-high with eight points, along with six rebounds. H-SC shot 40% (31-77) from the field, including 24% (6-25) on three-pointers, and 75% (18-24) at the free throw line. The Tigers enjoyed a 50-20 advantage in points scored in the paint and a 27-5 advantage in second chance points with 27 offensive rebounds.
Raford led Wilson with his 19 points off the bench. Armani Jones finished with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Phoenix. Wilson shot 36% (23-64) from the field, including 33% (11-33) on three-pointers, and 63% (10-16) at the line.
H-SC will play (11)University of Redlands on day two of the Holiday Classic on Saturday, December 20, at 3:30 p.m. in Diaz Arena.
