HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. --
Hampden-Sydney College junior Robert Clarke (Atlanta, GA) and sophomore Camden Richardson (Midlothian) have each been named a member of the 2024 Academic All-District® Football Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for NCAA Division III. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.

Robert Clarke is an economics & business major with a minor in rhetoric at the College and has a 3.53 GPA as a Dean's List (every semester) student. On the field, the first-year team captain and linebacker started the first eight games this past fall before a season-ending injury. He made 64 total tackles (28 solo), including 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups and two fumbles recovered, and was second on the team in tackles, tied for 10th in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), while tied for third in the ODAC in fumbles recovered — he was a Second Team All-ODAC selection. Robert is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society and Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, a recipient of the Harrison Scholarship (above 3.5 GPA), Middlecourt Scholarship (Freshmen) and the Eagle Scout Scholarship, serves as President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, is a member of the Tiger Athletic Club (TAC) and is a two-time member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2022-23, 2023-24).

Camden Richardson is an economics & business major at the College and has a 3.61 GPA as a Dean's List (every semester) student. On the field, the punter played in nine games and averaged 37.2 yards on 26 punts with three punts over 50 yards, three inside the 20, and two fair-caught. He ranked sixth in the ODAC in punting average. In addition to being a Dean's List student, Camden is a recipient of the Middlecourt Scholarship (Freshmen) and a member of the ODAC All-Academic Team (2023-24).

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 28, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
